Psychological support for children

A workshop organized jointly by the Iraqi Law Firm and For the Sake of Iraq NGO in cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights was concluded in Baghdad on Monday, July 8.

Participants in the workshop discussed representatives of the Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, Youth and Sports, the High Commission for Human Rights and activists from the governorates of Nineveh, Salaheddin and Anbar over the past two days a number of axes aimed at developing training skills and psychological support within the AMAN project to develop the rule of law and rehabilitate society After conflicts.

The organizing institution of the workshop commended the active participation of the House of Children’s Culture through its interaction and presenting important opinions and suggestions that serve children according to the curriculum and strategy adopted by the House for its long experience in the field of childhood.

Dr. Faten Al-Jarrah, Assistant Director-General of the Children’s Culture Center, expressed her readiness to cooperate with non-governmental organizations in all that serves children, especially the rejection of violence and extremism against children through the activation of ideas and their implementation on the ground.

On the second day of the workshop, Dr. Adnan Yassin, Professor of Sociology, organized the first two lectures on social challenges and how to deal with them, including the phenomenon of child recruitment and its future impact on society.
Professor Suad Al-Dabbagh presented a legal study on the mechanism of dealing with the juvenile in the investigation and trial stages and a description of the system of rehabilitation schools and the necessary needs for reintegrating them into society if their sentence ends through a diverse cultural education program.

In conclusion, certificates of appreciation were distributed to participants in the workshop and the need to continue to submit a plan and a program of action to be applied on the ground.
